Cornwall OSET Cup 2023 Round 4

The Camborne and Redruth MC held the fourth round of the 2023 Cornwall OSET Cup on Saturday 29th April at Gilberts Coombe, Redruth in glorious sunshine for a complete change. A problem with the online entry system prevented some riders from entering and many had to enter on the day. This has been resolved for the next round on 20th May and online entries are available now and working correctly.

We did manage to attract a total of 26 riders for the trial which was run over 3 laps of 10 sections and from April to September there will always be 10 sections each time and then back to 8 later in the year, it was great to welcome yet another newcomer, this time 4-year-old Freddie Riddell. The star on the Hard Course was 7 yr old Josh Dustow, a clear winner 41 marks clear of 2nd place rider Andrew Hancock on 54, closely followed by Kyle Bateman in 3rd place on 55. Close battles and some great riding took place on both the Medium Course and Easy Course. For the 7-year Medium Class Jasper Gelpy Smith and William Lewis fought hard with Jasper the winner just 1 single mark clear of William and much the same on the Easy Course 7-year Class where Archer Tripconey and Tully Gleave had a great day with Archer the eventual winner just 2 marks clear of Tully. A great day for all.
